It’s Inauguration Day!

on January 20, 2009

I can’t believe my eyes. My family is watching the first African American being sworn in as President of the United States.  For some of you he was not your choice, but we all need to see this day as a great day in history. We are so blessed to be here to see it. God has a plan, we may not see it now and some of us will never see it. It just works that way. We need to embrace the fact that we are a blessed nation to be able to elect our own president. We live in the land of the free and the brave. We might not always agree with everything that happens, but we NEED to support our nation and all who are working to help run it. It is our duty as a citizen!

As parents (not just homeschoolers), we have an awesome teaching opportunity. Not only are we swearing in a new president today, but he is African American. This is a day of great triumph and learning.  Let’s celebrate our God for giving us freedom of will!
